The Power of Your Regroove
The human mind is very much like a vinyl record. Before we had MP3’s. before we has CD’s, and before we had cassette tapes, we had vinyl records.
If you have ever listened to a vinyl record and IF you have had the unfortunate experience of scratching the record, you will recall that a vinyl record will get stuck, wherever it has been scratched.
The needle that plays the music, gets stuck in the scratched groove, and an endless circle, of the same sound, is played over and over again.
If you have ever had a traumatic experience in life, traumatic experiences can leave unseen scratches. Other people may not see the scratches, but you might live the traumatic event that you experienced, over and over again. Once this happens, you may develop PTSD.
The good news is, both vinyl records and the brain can be metaphoriucally “sanded down.” After the “sanding down” occurs, new grooves will be able to become engrained. Suddenly, the endless loop you are stuck in, gives way to joy. and a renewed sense of purpose.
Helping people with PTSD and/or trauma bonds develop a new and powerful narrative, is one of my specialities.
I call this process “The Power of Your Regroove.”
